My wife and I enjoy spending our Sunday mornings watching the previous night’s edition of Saturday Night Live and that week’s episode of CBS Sunday Morning.
We used to watch NBC’s Meet The Press. We l-o-v-e-d Tim Russert. But when Russert passed away (far too young as a person and far too early as an outstanding journalist who was desperately needed in today’s political climate), we found the new dynamic on Meet The Press to be uninspired. We decided we wanted another form of entertainment on Sunday morning.
Enter Charles Osgood.
The year was 2009. And for the next seven years (until he retired in late 2016) we routinely spent our Sunday mornings with Osgood. Now, we spend our Sundays with his replacement, Jane Pauley (who is no Charles Osgood).
